On April 14th a website known as Al Hayat- a pro-Saudi newsgroup was hacked. Their front page was replaced with one that threatened Saudi Arabia if they continued to become involved in Yemen’s unrest. About.me reported that a group took credit calling themselves the Yemen Cyber Army.
The group continued to create problems, starting a Twitter hashtag called #OpSaudi. On May 20 they hacked the Saudi foreign ministry and began to leak information about different people onto the internet. The group seemed actually to be in Yemen since Saudi Arabia and Iran was involved in a bloody conflict with Yemen in the middle. Click here for full story.
That belief has begun to change. First when the group spoke with Buzzfeed News and other media groups they claimed to be from Yemen but refused to speak Arabic. They also declined to give details about where they were. Then came Boaz Dolev head of Clear Sky in Israeli Cyber security company.
He believes the Iranian government is at fault. They have identified a piece of malware that has been deployed at 550 targets. Almost one half was aimed at Saudi Arabia, 14% in Israel and 11% in Yemen. Several IP addresses have been traced back to Iran. Dolev believes that the Iranian government is behind the group and that its purpose is likely related to espionage.
The social media phenomenon has managed to penetrate just about every level of technology imaginable. From computers to smartphones to tablets, just about everyone imaginable is using one of the different popular social networks. One of the biggest enhancements users take advantage of is tagging various pictures with the names of the people in the photo. Keith Mann has learned that Facebook even managed to work out a way to utilize facial recognition to have the system tag people automatically, and that ability has just gotten way more powerful.
According to International Business Times, Facebook has worked out a powerful facial recognition algorithm that takes users body type, posture, and other aspects into consideration, which gives Facebook an 83-percent certainty of recognizing friends in Facebook photos even if their back is turned to the camera. The company has not hinted at when this update would be made available to the public, but with a very high success rate it seems likely to happen soon.
Facial recognition technology is an amazingly complicated world that takes any number of measurements into consideration. For any company to manage to effectively unveil technology that does not actually need to the see the face is a fascinating accomplishment. Of course, Facebook users are going to want to make sure their privacy features are up to date to make sure they do not start popping up auto-tagged in several pictures, which could be the biggest hurdle facing the breakthrough.
Okay. The government collected trillions of dollars in taxes in 2014, but they didn’t think that some of that money was needed to bring their security systems up to date. Government security systems are outdated and no one seemed to care until the Chinese hacked those systems and stole the personal information of millions of government workers. How dumb can Congress be?
Instead of focusing on issues that make little sense to mainstream Americans, it’s time Congress gets its fiscal house in order, and spends money where it gives the biggest return. Keeping federal employees records safe should be a top priority when budget money is being allocated.
But this is just one example of the ineptness of our government, and the shortsightedness of our Congressional leaders. There will be an investigating committee set up to identify how and why the files were hacked, but that does little to solve the real issue. The real issues is our government’s choice making abilities, and their perception of doing the right things for the people. Clearly those actions are flawed.

According to Beneful, executives at Time Warner Cable are not going to be thrilled over a dubious honor soon to be bestowed upon their company. Time Warner Cable has the dubious distinction of being the first company to be hit with a net neutralitycomplaint. The new regulations have only been in place a short number of days. Still, a San Diego-based company, Commercial Network Services, has filed suit in Federal Court. The complaint deals with allegations that Time Warner charges way too much for streaming services.
Commercial Network Services streams web video and feels that Time Warner unfairly tries to squeeze money from them. In order to cut costs, Commercial Network Services claims it has had to provide lower quality video streams. Whether or not the courts see things Commercial Network Services way or rules in favor of Time Warner remains to be seen. What we do know is net neutrality is surely going to spawn quite a number of civil suits over the next few years.
Ironically, many of the same internet and entertainment companies that once promoted net neutrality are starting to back away from it. This should come as no surprise since things may not be working out for them as expected. Probably the most high-profile switch from proponent to opponent has been Netflix.
Do not look for net neutrality rules to go away any time soon. The regulations are locked in place unless the courts throw them out.
As the power of computing is becoming greater and more accessible, the ability for access to the web has become easier. However, this increased access has also created another problem which is the availability of illicit goods and services on the web section referred to as the deep web. Access to The Deep Web May Not Be Safe For All While there has always been a rabbit hole that has been illegal or illicit for individuals, especially youth to explore, the deep web has become the location of numerous illicit cites including severe violence as well as explicit illegal sexual sites which exploit children and young adults. Drugs and weapons can be purchased on the deep web as well as stolen credit cards and Paypal accounts and even counterfeit currency. The availability of these items are one matter but the access to the cite is another. Attempts to shut down the deep web have been met with Constitutional arguments regarding free expression and freedom of speech. The means to limit youth access to the deep web have been left primarily with the parents. The problem is that some parents may not even know the extent of the deep web and may not realize that their children are even accessing the such sites. Laws are only effective with regard to specific content which can be deemed illegal to possess. However, NexPointAdvisors and James Dondero are hopeful that the vast majority of the deep web will remain open and available.
Marc Sparks is a very successful businessman. However, he doesn’t think that his success was a matter of luck. He does not see himself as above others. In fact, he has published a book about how he attained business success that is titled, “They Can’t Eat You” available on Amazon. He also does not keep all his money for himself. He is a big time philanthropist.
Marc Sparks did not simply start a singular business. He is a serial entrepreneur. This means, according to an article posted in Bloomberg, that Sparks has started a multitude of businesses. He is particularly involved in telecommunication. However, he also is involved in other types of businesses as well.

To say that Sean Parker is an influential person would be a major understatement. Parker started Napster, co-founded social media giant Facebook and funded Spotify. Back in 2003 Parker wanted his favorite graffiti artist David Choe to paint the new Facebook offices. Choe hated social media but agreed to take stock instead of the agreed upon $60,000. Now that stock is worth over $200 million.
David Choe had just gotten out of prison. He was as hard up for money as anyone could be. After Choe went to a meeting with high profile execs to get funding for Facebook with Parker he knew Parker was on to something. He might not have cared for social media but he definitely wanted to jump on the Sean Parker bandwagon.
So what influenced his decision to take worthless stock instead of a lump $60,000? Well, let’s just say that Choe likes to gamble. He was rolling the dice and his decision paid off big time. It just goes to show that sometimes in life you have to take risks if you want to make it big. Now worth over $200 million you could say that Choe has finally made it. He’s got more than enough cash to do whatever he wants.

Imaging and radiology
Radiology is a section of medicine that utilizes advanced forms of imaging to understand, diagnose and treat diseases in the human body. It is also utilized in assessing and treating injuries of various kinds with the same technology.
Radiology has two basic sections. They are interventional radiology and diagnostic radiology. However, as subset would be therapeutic radiation. This radiation therapy is now known as radiation oncology, and it is fast becoming an additional branch of radiation therapy. This therapy utilizes very strong X-rays to strategically direct cancer treatments. Osteopathic doctors that then go on to specialize in radiology are called Radiologists.
In order for doctors to have precise images of the internal body structures, diagnostic radiology is necessary. Diagnostic radiologists interpret these images and prescribe the appropriate course of action based on the results of their analysis. They can determine the origin of the symptoms that caused the patient to seek care. They can also monitor how different medications are progressing against the issues utilizing diagnostic radiology. One of the most common uses for diagnostic radiology is in the diagnoses and treatment of the common detrimental diseases.
These issues are discovered using various diagnostic radiology technologies. The most common are Cat scans, fluoroscopies, magnetic resonance imaging and angiographies. Very common uses include plain chest X-rays and ultrasounds, but the technology is advancing. Emerging therapies include positron emission tomography or PET scans, nuclear medicine and advanced mammography.
Doctors that utilize the advanced forms of imaging that are contained in radiology in order to direct treatments and procedures are called interventional radiologists. They use the precise imaging to direct the positioning of catheters and most other tools and foreign instruments into the body that are necessary in treatments. One other positive benefit of these procedures is that they are minimally invasive. They often only require a minute incision in some cases. This technology allows doctors to strategically access virtually every part of the body.
However, this technology must be installed, and the attending staff has to be familiarized with appropriate procedures. Hospitals and medical centers would be burdened by these non-medical functions if it were not for companies like Imaging Advantage. Imaging Advantage (crunchbase.com) allows doctors and staff to be focused on diagnoses and treatments rather than with operational issues. This also allows them to incorporate new technologies and procedures without being faced with the task of re-training staff for the changes.
Imaging Advantage has effected these types of changes in every major medical center and hospital in the nation. Imaging Advantage seamlessly incorporates the new technologies and then ensures that the appropriate staff and doctors are then trained in the operation and benefits of this new technology. Additionally, they provide around the clock teleradiological services and incorporate new technologies and social media-styled interactions with staff and doctors to deliver training without making certain necessary persons unavailable for extended periods of time. They have been delivering these services impeccably for a decade or more.
The Growing Importance of Visual Search
As millions of people around the world go on line for the first time every year, the importance of search engine technology as a tool of global commerce has enjoyed rapid growth. For the first time in human history, people in large numbers now possess the ability to search for products that interest them using platforms that extend internationally. One impressive new trend in this field concerns a recent development which promises to enhance the power of consumers even more in the very near future: visual search.
This article will explore visual search and its roots in a bit more detail. It will demonstrate why this powerful tool will soon place more power than ever before in the hands of consumers.
What is visual search and what advantages does it offer over other search methods? Shortly after the Internet first arose, a consumer could access the Web and visit popular search engines to input terms, names or expressions called “keywords” that would produce a list of sites on line referenced around the same topic. In fact, word-based search technology has advanced significantly in a just a short space of time. Today, people all around the world can use this technology to hunt for goods and services of interest.
Keyword technology holds some drawbacks. First, it can prove difficult to search sites based in other languages, even with translation technology available to provide a rough translation of the content. The nuances of language sometimes cause unintended miscommunication during Internet search processes. Second, not all search engines “speak” every human language.
Yet one stunning new development occurred recently with the advent of extremely refined visual search technology promoted by Slyce. The company has devised a way to allow on line shoppers to trace the source and sales outlets of products they see in images on the Internet. Visual images cross language barriers in a way that words do not. The innovations developed by Slyce’s new search engine will likely revolutionize the process of shopping on line in the near future!
Furnishing More Power to Consumers
Some observers in the past have noted the democratizing powers of cyberspace during the Information Age. In the past, hierarchies and structures often controlled the free flow of information to a very great extent. But old models now undergo rapid change, as the explosion of interest in the Internet have opened a floodgate of information.
Companies that utilize the Slyce technology in marketing will likely enjoy many advantages in a growing consumer dominated market in which on line visitors expect instantaneous access to information. Being able to see who manufactures an attractive item of apparel at the click of a button (or at the tap on a pda screen) will likely please many people. They will also appreciate the power Slyce offers them to locate outlets for the products they notice instantly. Can enhanced on line sales revenues for retailers lag far behind in this process? Slyce will empower markets!
