A Day Out with Danilo Diaz Granados

Only those deemed eligible out of Miami’s wealthiest residents were treated to a spectacular day this past July, curated by Danilo Diaz Granados, co-founder of Toys for Boys. Granados stated that he “wanted to create an opportunity that would give our guests a once-in-a-lifetime experience”, which began with an exclusive breakfast at Dame Zaha Hadid’s One Thousand Museum sales center. From there, the guests experienced a day of experiences and cuisine as rich as not only their host, but the culture of Miami.

After joining his guests on a private tour of an upcoming residential building located in Miami’s Biscayne area, Danilo Diaz Granados escorted them all onto a helicopter for a brief flight. Their destination was the Palm Beach Race Track, where every guest was allowed to sit in the driver’s seat of a top-end car and take a drive around the track. To cap off this memorable day, the guests were served Dom Perignon and lunch by the Miami River before taking a cruise around the bay, courtesy of the River Yacht Club.

Danilo Diaz Granados has become one of the hardest working, most well-known entrepreneurs in recent memory. After much hard work and making connections, Danilo Diaz Granados founded Toys for Boys in 2013 with co-founder Rafael Gill. Toys for Boys is a luxury boutique in Miami, Florida’s Wynwood District where those with wealth and a taste for decadence may purchase anything from top-of-the-line cars to rare pieces fine art. In addition to the storefront, 2014 saw the launch of Toys for Boys magazine, a quarterly release online and in print which profiles some of the most successful people in the world, detailing their achievements and rise to fortune through original and professionally crafted written content and exclusive photos.

In another example of his entrepreneurial spirit, Danilo Diaz Granados is also the founder of Edge of Glory Films. Edge of Glory Films is a studio whose mission statement is to promote Hispanic-created media in the United States. In addition to being the compnany’s founder, Granados also oversees production, editing, promotion, and distribution of the studio’s films, and posts footage to his Vimeo page.

PayTV is Losing Customers

In recent news, Pay TV is losing a lot of customers which is resulting in cord cutting form a lot of companies. People are turning away from pay services that were traditionally offered through the use of cable and Satellite television. While a lot of those companies are probably reeling from this development. This is something that is to be expected with the internet providing a lot of entertainment. Less people are using satellite services in order to watch some of their favorite shows in this changing climate of entertainment. As technology advances, some services are going to become obsolete.

One of the major factors in people cutting their services is internet services like YouTube, Netflix, Hulu and plenty of other services that offer people the chance to watch some of their favorite shows. Another factor in this is that these services allow people to watch their favorite shows at anytime they want as opposed to having to wait until the next time slot that it airs. People can also binge watch some of their favorite shows at anytime in a similar fashion to marathons. The convenience that people can get from online entertainment goes way beyond the entertainment value that is offered on television. In fact, some of the premium channels are offering similar services where people can watch some of their favorite shows or new shows at anytime they want.

Another factor in the changing industry of television is the cost. A lot of these services are offered at a very low price. Compared to the large amounts of money that come with cable and satellite TV, many people would rather get rid of their pay TV services in order to save money on their entertainment. Companies like DirecTV and Dish Network are faced with the need to adapt with the changing market or else close down. People are enjoying their online streaming services that are being offered to them with the online entertainment services.

Starting your Commercial Print Modeling with the Brown Modeling Agency

Some aspiring models get lucky when they are discovered by modeling scouts that roam around the country in search of talent but for some, it is all about creating your own luck. Becoming a print model who appears in magazines, print ads, and billboards can be tricky for a newcomer in the field. Commercial print modeling does not have as many restrictions as runway modeling, which is one reason some people prefer it. So, if you have that fresh face and a dream, where do you start?

Putting together a portfolio will help you get started, but it is not a strict requirement as with fashion modeling. Take pictures that highlight your best features with shots in different angles. If you can get a professional photographer, that is even better because it is the perfect way to get comfortable in front of a camera, certainly an aspect that will work for your modeling career.

Networking is very crucial, and the internet makes that easy for aspiring models. Find a website that offers networking opportunities with different professionals in the field such as photographers, agents, models, and makeup artists. Communicating with the right people will go a long way in establishing contacts that can be useful because these websites are a good place to find projects and collaborate with other models, which help build your résumé.

Find an Agent

Finding the right agent is the next step in furthering your commercial print modeling dream, and that can be less complicated when you have the right networks. One option is to have a friend or colleague who is a model to give you a referral to their modeling agency. Alternatively, you can search for firms online and submit your photos or drop them off personally if it’s possible. Be careful though when finding an agent because a lot of aspiring models get scammed online.

Brown Agency

The Brown Agency in Austin has been representing talents since 2010. In that short time, it has built a credibility for taking the time to prepare their models before sending them out into the world. The dedication of the staff at Brown has resulted in some of the best talents to come out of Texas. Brown Agency’s models work with big brands such as L’Oreal, Louis Vuitton, Toyota, and Dell. Also, models appear in runways at the Miami Swim Week, NY Fashion week, and Austin Fashion week.

The modeling firm was founded by Justin Brown, a former model who started working in the field since he was in college. He saw the potential in Texas and decided to invest in the local talent, a move that has so far worked out quite well. He even bought out Heyman Talent South, one of his competitors.

Michael Zomber’s Passion

Update August 31st, 2016:
Michael Zomber appeared on the June 12th edition of the iUniverse podcast to talk about his book, Shogun Iemitsu. During the interview, Michael talks about his inspiration for writing the book, his love of Japanese culture, as well as history at large. Definitely worth a listen if you’re interested in hearing a different side of this famous author, in his own words.

Are you passionate about antique arms? Michael Zomber is, and he’s sharing his passion with the world. Zomber has been collecting antique arms and armor for the last forty years, and he desires to share as much of his knowledge as possible. One of his outlets for sharing his experience and knowledge is the History Channel. With a documentary series on guns, Zomber will assure you that guns aren’t his only passion.

Michael Zomber

His love for samurai swords has driven him to share more through writing screenplays and his gift of storytelling has riveted thousands. Historical novels written by Zomber shed light on the reason why these antique weapons are special and will have a great influence on future readers and historians. Zomber’s expertise has made him an internationally known history expert, and his documentary about Bushido, Soul of the Samurai put him on the map as a respected historian.

Zomber and his wife have their own film company, Renascent Films LLC. Due to the nature of this topic, Zomber thought it was wise to become a part of organizations that foster peace. Living in Philadelphia, Zomber and his family fit right in with many of the antique experts that live and work in the area.

There is a way, and there is a warrior way. For Michael Zomber, an expert on Samurai culture, the warrior way, also known as Bushido, is the lifeblood for how one should conduct him or herself.

For Zomber, that means applying the principle in many different arenas. His interests, hobbies and his work are often intertwined.

On any given day, he can be found serving as a producer for an independent film, or writing another book (he has authored five–Shogun Iemitsu, Jesus and the Samurai, Sweet Betsy, That’s Me, Park Avenue, and A Son Of Kentucky). He might also be on the set for the History Channel serving as an expert and historian for shows like “Tales of the Gun”.

In all of these roles, he is undergirded by a keen intellect and interest that is reminiscent of the Bushido he has long studied–morality, honor and discipline help center him.

If you had to distill all that Zomber does, it could be done by saying he tells stories. That is not a stretch given his undergraduate and graduate degrees in literature from UCLA. As an author, the story telling is obvious, but it also spills over into his filmmaking, which he and his wife Andrea oversee through their company, Renascent Films. Through Renascent, they produce and distribute independent films.

His affiliation with the History Channel is a perfect fusion of his hobbies and his work. For 40 years, he has collected antique guns and armory. His storytelling gift shines on shows like “Tales of the Gun” because it is accompanied by his deep understanding and appreciation for the culture and craftsmanship of the weapons highlighted on the show.

Even in philanthropy, Zomber’s core beliefs shine through. He and Andrea are vocal and visible supporters of organizations at home and abroad, that improve the lives of people through de-escalating war and conflict, and greater access to resources that lead to better health and education outcomes.

“We support various philanthropic organizations based on our values of love, compassion and peaceful resolution of conflict,” say the Zombers. Those beliefs have been passed down to their children, Gabriella and Christopher.

Passion, combined with Michael Zomber’s deep intellect and wide-ranging expertise make him a sought after guest for radio and television.

Given the wide range of projects he has excelled at thus far, it is difficult to guess what his next move will be.  Check out Michael’s bio for more information, and be sure to follow him on Facebook.

Stephen P. Murray Was An Amazing Inspiration

The world of business is not always a place that lends itself to offering friendship. It can be very hard to shed the air of competitiveness that is part of being in business and make true friends. I know that I have often felt this way. This is why I was so sad when I learned of the passing of Stephen P. Murray.

Murray was of those rare people who offered something you don’t always see in the world of business. He was someone who was able to transcend the boundaries that often get created because we can be all so competitive and become someone who was known for his many friendships.

Learning About Business

When I was a young kid, all too many years ago, I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do with my life. My dad suggested that I follow in his footsteps so I did. I went to college where I majored in economics. After graduating, I was accepted to Columbia for a business master’s degree.

It was there that I met Stephen Murray. Like me, he was considering all kinds of business ideas. We both thought about what kind of business venture would make us happy. At every turn, he made it clear that he would support me no matter what choices I chose to make in my life. This is was great as I was a rather insecure adolescent. Going Different Ways

Stephen Murray quickly realized that his talents lay in working for a large company. He went into banking where I watched as he rose from one position to another. I watched his career closely and keep in touch with him.

While I very much admired his devotion to his field, I knew back then that banking was not going to for me at all. I wanted to open up my own business and choose my own path in life.

Working With Him

As I started my own business, I still kept in touch with Murray. He was happy to offer me advice, particularly about funding.

As Stephen climbed the ladder, ultimately rising to help head one of the most prestigious private equity investors in the country, I sought out his advice about where I could find funding to help keep my business expanding into new markets. He was always there, a true friend with great advice I could rely on in life.

Good News for NYC Hopefuls

The uncertainty that is being seen overseas is helping out the New York City real estate market. There are now more NYC apartments for sale than there have been in a long time and this is something that is very beneficial to the real estate market. It means that there are more opportunities for more people to move into the city and get what they have always been dreaming of.

In the past, it was difficult for anyone to find NYC apartments for sale because the market was so tight and the city was so full of people. Now that people are moving in different directions, they are able to find what they are looking for in New York City real estate. This is something that hasn’t happened for many years and something that will, hopefully, last for the people who want to be able to cash in on the real estate market.

Whether the market is good or bad, TOWN Residential has been through it all. They have been able to help people find the luxury New York City real estate that they want. They have worked hard to make sure that they have connections and that they are seen as one of the premier destinations for people who are looking for real estate in New York City. It has been their goal, as a real estate company to provide NYC apartments for sale that other companies are not able to even show. They have the connections that are required for that.

With everything that TOWN Residential has to offer, there are very few reasons that New York City hopefuls have to not choose them. This has made a big impact in the way that people have used the company. TOWN Residential, as one of the premier luxury real estate companies in the city, has been able to grow even more into a company that provides their clients with all of the right things in their apartment. They have the best NYC apartments for sale and are able to provide them to all of the clients who they serve.

Self-Driving Cars by Ford Planned for 2021

Self Driving Cars by Ford Planned for 2021
Over the last few years, we have seen lots of information come to light about the self-driving cars. These cars are being programed to make decisions, much like a human driver, to get its human occupants to their destination safely. There has been some controversy over whether or not these self driving automobiles are safe. That is why companies like Ford have been working hard to iron out all the kinks to have these cars safe and available as soon as possible.
On Tuesday Ford announced a series of investments going into these self driving cars. These investments show how diligently they are working to make hands free driving available. Ford has said that they are planning on having self driving cars available in 2021 for the use of parcel delivery and ride-hailing work (much like Uber or Lyft). In the later half of that decade, they are hoping to have them available for customer and pedestrian use.
There has been no word on what Ford plans to do for its ride-hailing. It appears they have not decided if they will make their own company or joining with a preexisting one like Uber. All the investments Ford has recently made show that they are trying to match the pace of companies already working toward automatic transportation. Google and Tesla have been working hard on mastering self-driving technology as well.
Ford hopes that the self-driving car will be as revolutionary as “The Ford assembly line was” according to Raj Nair, Ford’s Chief technical officer. It appears that it could be. With this technology mastered there would be a large change to driving as we know it. Americans each drive thousands of miles each year, so it is a major part of our lives. It would give the people more choices on how to get to point A to point B and could revolutionize public transportation. Having the technology to be able to have a machine drive for us, gives us even more transportation choices.

How Entertainment is Changing

Entertainment is always in a state of change. Back in the earlier decades such as the 70s and 80s, people considered cable to be the best offer. People were content with waiting for their favorite shows to come on at the time slot. Also, the closest thing people had to binge watching their favorite shows was watching marathons. Often times, the marathons were followed by a new episode of the series. Later on, satellite TV was introduced. People were able to get plenty of other channels where they could discover some new shows. However, these packages tend to cost a good amount of money.

People that didn’t have Pay TV often had to put up with bad reception which presented people with a distorted and discolored image that could be received through the antenna. Also, Pay TV was the only way that people could watch movies uninterrupted without having to rent or buy a videocassette or Laserdisc. Even though things were good enough with Pay TV, technological advancements have brought forth greater quality in entertainment as well as convenience. The internet has advanced to the point that people could watch high quality videos such as trailers, TV shows and even movies in high quality stereo as well.

As a result of the growth of companies like Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu among other services, Pay TV has started to see declines in their customer base. More people are faced with the decision of letting of Pay TV or letting go of Netflix. The choice was obvious. Given that services like Netflix, Hulu, and other similar services were less expensive than Pay TV services, Pay TV was going to be the one to go. For one thing, people no longer feel the need to pay in order to put up with shows they don’t like in order to catch the shows they do like when they could catch their favorite shows and all of the episodes for a fraction of the price they paid.

Stephen Murray: Tomorrow’s Never Promised

That no matter how many good things you do in life it can all be gone tomorrow. By the way Stephen Murray lived his life, it would seem that he knew these facts of life all too well. Read more: West Village Townhouse for $17 Million
