The two resorts have a special connect for many years. When a visitor is standing on one resort, they are able to spot the other clearly.

Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley have several similarities. They have been in existence for the longest time, but they have some differences too. They have different cultures, and they are also separated by ski passes. In 2011, there were several changes in the resorts.

First of all, the company that owns Squaw Valley Holdings, known as KSL Capital Partners decided to purchase Alpine Meadows. This acquisition united the two resorts, making it one big resort.

The cultures were also united, and the resorts enjoyed more visitors. However, the guests coming to the resorts had to drive from one mountain to the other’s parking. For most of them, this was a great challenge.

Northern Lake Tahoe skiers do not have to suffer any longer. Just recently, Squaw Valley Holding management announced that they were going to build a special gondola. The gondola will be a perfect way to connect Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley.

The new project is expected to start very soon, and it will be operating in three deferent parts. Many skiers from both resorts have dreamt about this gondola for many years, and this will transform the business in the area. For the snowboarders who visit the resorts, this is a dream come true.

According to Andy Wirth, the plans to construct the gondola have not come as a surprise to the visitors in the area. There have been rumors among the skiers and snowboarders since the merging of the two resorts.

Several individuals played a crucial role in the construction of the gondola. Troy Caldwell, a businessman who owns the land that is found between the resorts is believed to have held the key to the idea.

According to Powder, Andy Wirth, the CEO of Squaw Valley Holdings is also believed to have played a big role in the construction of the gondola too. Since his appointment to the position, Andy Wirth has done so much for the resort. He put up a brave fight and won the Olympic Valley Incorporation battle, something that had brought serious problems to the communities living in the area.

Under his leadership, the resorts have experienced a lot of success. Andy is planning to make the resort the best tourist destination in the world.

He has done a lot to develop the infrastructure in the area by constructing better roads and houses, making the resort the best in California.
